Dr. Ajay Sud

Dr Ajay Sud is an experienced surgically trained doctor with over 15 years of operative and procedural experience across tertiary and regional hospitals in Australia and New Zealand.

He graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) and completed a Master of Science with distinction in Biochemistry. Dr Sud has undertaken extensive postgraduate surgical training in General Surgery and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, working in major tertiary referral centres including trauma, burns, reconstructive, microsurgical and emergency surgical services.

Throughout his career, Dr Sud has developed broad operative experience in skin cancer surgery, facial soft tissue procedures, wound reconstruction, trauma surgery, minor hand procedures and complex layered closure techniques. His reconstructive approach focuses not only on complete lesion excision, but also on functional preservation, careful tissue handling, aesthetic scar placement and long-term wound quality.

Dr Sud has worked extensively alongside senior Plastic, Reconstructive and General Surgeons across Australia and New Zealand and has participated in the teaching and mentoring of medical students and junior doctors through the University of Otago, Australian National University and The University of Queensland.

He has completed multiple advanced surgical and trauma courses through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons including ASSET, EMST, CCRISP, CLEAR and Emergency Surgical Management of Burns (ESMB), and has successfully completed both the GSSE and Clinical Examinations during surgical training.

Dr Sud has also contributed to peer-reviewed surgical literature and textbook publications in reconstructive and plastic surgery.
